We did and really enjoyed it. It was one of the nicest parades that I've been There was a lot of variety. Not sure why they didn't throw candy though There was quite a bit of traffic after but it was worth it.

That is a very nice parade. The parade organizers don't allow anything to be given out to prevent the ground from being littered with wrappers or flyers at the end of the event.

I figured it was something like that.

I'm sure there's a safety issue involved as well...since this is a night time parade, and thus visibility could be considered hampered....I've been to parades in the daytime where throwing things out from floats, etc is no longer allowed due to safety (children have been run over by floats running out to get candy, etc..not at the parade I attended, but around the U.S.). Some parades do allow people who are walking along to hand out directly to the crowd...but again, those are day time parades.

Default Fountain Inn Christmas Parade

When I compare the Greenville Christmas Parade to The Fountain Inn Parade, there is no comparison. Fountain Inn wins hands down. Very organized and not rushed. It seemed to me that the Greenville Parade had some entries actually running to keep up. More floats, riders on horses and just a better atmosphere. Bands played their music and not too much drumming. IMHO, a better event. Greenville needs to do better. Again, IMHO.

Sorry but the better parade is the one with more mullets per square block.
