My understanding was that it was for sale before the fire, with the condition that the restaurant would shut down and move out within 60 days of the sale.

So.. Rafferty's was closing one way or another. The fire moved that date up some.. But it doesn't sound quite as nefarious as all that.

Not in the area but since we are following it locally in this thread, just announced that the Sumter Kmart will be one of another 80 stores to close. Today is the last day for them to find an owner or extend the deadline.

Wild Wing Downtown is apparently permanently closed, according to the Wild Wing site.. Seems there was some talk around here about that possibly happening recently?

It must've just happened too. Google's cache from December 27th still has Washington St. still listed on wildwingcafe.com.

Word is it didn't open for New Years Eve. It's still listed on the site, but you click on the downtown location you get this

They have indeed closed: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.gre...amp/2466084002 Apparently the workers weren’t even told of the closing. Wow.

I wondered when they opened the Magnolia Park location if downtown could continue to exist. Guess my question is answered.

Not surprising. That location was the worst Wild Wing Cafe I've ever visited. The food, staff, and overall atmosphere was just lacking compared to their other locations.
