My wife and I are hosting a foreign exchange student this year from Germany. So far, she's a wonderful kid. However, she is a vegetarian, and my wife and I are not. We are more than willing to accomodate her choice, but when we want to go out, sometimes I have to think hard about some of our regular restaraunt choices, and whether our student will have a decent selection of vegetarian items on the menu.

What are some of the best restaraunts around Greenville and Easley with vegetarian options? Of course, having "salad" on the menu doesn't really cut it, just in case someone tries to mention it.

Chicora Alley on Main St. is a great vegetarian go-to. Carnivores and vegans will be happy too. Their kitchen is very talented and houses several vegetarians and a vegan or too.

Cantinflas on main street has a good vegetarian menu as well as stuff for meat-eaters.

What about Chipotle? Also, if your exchange student likes Thai food, Bangkok Thai off of Pelham Rd offers tofu as an option in addition to chicken, steak, etc.

Swad, located on Laurens, is an Indian, all vegetarian restaurant - never been but have heard many good reviews.

There are some excellent suggestions so far. Thanks a lot to all of you.

I wouldn't mind seeing just a few more, though, especially certain entrees from these places that may be your favorites.

Check out Your Pie on Woodruff Road. By being able to build your own pizza, you can do some great vegetarian and vegan variations. They offer the product to do both. Cool place.
