Then I can't help you.....you need to understand Earth Markets.
Greenville already had other organic markets as well and has for years.
This is an "Earth Markets" and yes they do things a bit differently and better, but since this is the first in the US, you probably wouldn't know that.
Read up on them....brush up on your knowledge. Hugs for a better organic future for all.
I already looked at the site. I didn't see anything on their site that made them better than other existing organic markets in the U.S..
Maybe they will do something better than what is in Greenville locally, but not better than what is in the U.S. as a whole.
That program only requires restaurants to have at least 25% South Carolina products on the menu. That's a good thing, but it's not really farm-to-table in the sense of how people think of it.
I don't think most of those restaurants are even billing themselves as farm-to-table restaurants.
Please stop baiting. You've stated your case. That's that.
If you and your buddy weren't so defensive about everything Greenville, to the point that no one can question anything, this conversation would have been finished a long time ago.
You are your own worst enemies sometimes.
Anyway what's with the "That's that."? Who are you to tell anyone what they can write?
This guy recently wrote a complimentary piece about Greenville's restaurants, but even he states that farm-to-table has only recently caught on there compared to other places: http://inthepinkandgreen.blogspot.co...ant-recap.html
Not sure why you feel so defensive about what is merely the truth.

I could have sworn I read about either a new or upcoming restaurant coming to Greenville that is going to be "farm to table." I can't remember for the life of me what it was though but i'm thinking it was downtown.
but not better than what is in the U.S. as a whole.
^ That's your opinion.
You obviously don't understand the nuance of Earth Markets.
Anyway, since we both like organic, enjoy your fav places and I'll enjoy mine.
Kind of OT, but one thing that will really going help the local farmers out in this area is this: Organic food plant set for Greenville - Business - TheState.com (http://www.thestate.com/2011/05/12/1815959/organic-food-plant-set-for-greenville.html - broken link)

Please expand on the "nuance of Earth Markets." Which one have you been to? From I can tell it's an Italian organization that you apply to be in, then you have to put in some $$$ for the right to use their name/logo.
What other places in the U.S. have applied? Were they denied?
Also, I'm still waiting to hear about the "numerous farm to table restaurants" in Greenville you talk of...
WHY is Greenville having this bestowed upon it creating such rancor? Discussion Closed.
Greenville wasn't bestowed anything. What are you talking about?
