The stimulus worked, the stimulus worked. But the economy is improving: Jobless claims rise; home sales, leading indicators fall - USATODAY.com

WASHINGTON — New jobless claims in the U.S. jumped last week by the most since February, sales of previously occupied homes fell in June, and a gauge of future economic activity dropped in June, all signs the economic recovery will be a struggle.

The Labor Department said Thursday new claims for unemployment insurance jumped by 37,000 to a seasonally adjusted 464,000. Analysts expected a smaller rise, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.

I will agree that the local economy definitely seems to be looking up and picking up steam lately. Too bad the national economy is still stuck in neutral though.

Oh and notice who posted the information from Upstate Alliance and Businessweek recently on this sub-forum. G-man doesn't post positive or negative news. He posts the facts.
