FREEPORT, Texas, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- A Texas company says it plans to use energy generated by waves in the Gulf of Mexico to make salt water drinkable.
Renew Blue Inc. plans to put 18 wave-powered pumps just under the surface about a mile off the coast of Texas. The pumps will send water over a wheel that turns a electric turbine.
Wave power will just further harm our environment even more so than we already are. Millions of sea creatures may be killed on a regular basis depending on how many of these deathtraps we place off our nations shores.
Renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and geo thermal should be more than adequate to power drinking waster plants.
Lets nip this environmental disaster in the bud before it ever gets started.
America has far more to fear from Obama and his henchmen from Chicago than what the wave pumps will do to our environment. His plans for the future of America are so radical and destructive to our way of life that we may not recognize our own country by the time he leaves or is forced out of office. Lord help us all.
Any tidal or wave technology can be made creature friendly. Northern climes have been constructing dams and other water contrivances to protect salmon and marine life for generations now. It's about time we used the more obvious natural generators for our consumptions instead of mining, drilling, and raping the geology.
I found nothing in the article that would make me believe the safety of our tasty little sea creatures had been considered. Would you care to provide us with some hard data on the topic.
