ALL toilette paper is biodegradable....is it not? I think some of this stuff is just marketing fodder.
Yes, it is all biogradable. However, I believe the "eco-friendly" has to do with the use of trees specifically hargested to make the "soft" toilet paper vs. the less soft TP made of recycled paper products.
This country has been shipping our best timber overseas since WWII. I'll gladly re-plant a few trees in my timberlands to make up for the privilege to wipe my backside with something softer than did my great grand parents! Serious silliness some of this "green" run-amuck.
Back only a few hundred years ago, paper was at such a premium the idea of wiping ones' butt with it was horrifying.......if people even thought about doing such a thing.
Me, I buy the softest, most luxurious TP available. As a child, we often had to use pages from old Sears Roebuck catalogs. I'll scrimp and "go green" in other ways........
I buy the 32 roll package of Marcal Small Steps eco friendly toilet paper at Costco. This weekend, it was $10. The Charmin was $19!
The price of Marcal and Charmin is usually a few dollars difference at regular price Marcal is $15; Charmin is $19 for the same amount.
I don't feel the difference and I save a few dollars.
tp is one area i refuse to compromise...
i refuse to use 1 ply sand paper on my very delicate bits...
we dont go super plush, we dont go expensive...
if they can make a good "green" TP thats cheap and doesnt feel like sand paper or so thin you need twice as much to get clean then im all for it...
but untill then, ill stick with angel soft, its cheap and it doesnt chaffe! lol.
Reading a book on the history of toilets recently i was surprised to discover that half the world population uses no toilet paper at all and use water as the cleaning agent. Washlet Toilets can now be easily bought and installed/ B100
interesting concept.
For now i usually just buy the cheapest toilet paper in the super market.
yes I try and buy it when at a major supermarket who stock it and reasonable price...what Ive noticed now is some toilet paper is perfumed.. for gods sake. what are they thinking , putting cheap junk perfume on such a senstive part of our bodies , its horrible ..
