Hi, I am looking for companies that offer solar/wind powered units to run the electric in the house.

Any info on efficient units?

Default Here are some specs to build your own

Visit www.energeticforum.com and look in the Energy/Renewable Energy thread. There are lively discussions about how to build, etc. your own energy devices. Then bring back some info you like and start a thread here!

In the meantime, companies like Ambit Energy offer certified green-e energy packages, but it isn't available in all states yet: www.perfectchoice.joinambit.com.

Rig a small generator to the flywheel of your exercise bike. Use the electricity to run your laptop computer. You can stay fit and informed at the same time.

There are alternative energy consultants (my engineer husband is one) that could help and companies like backwoodssolar.com are good places to look too.
