There is a great new thread in the Retirement Forum entitled "The Green Thing". Well, the original post is great, at the very least, and I would recommend it. The poster points out that within his living memory, people did so many "green" things before that term was even in common use. I am 67, and I remember almost all the things he gives as examples: using a push mower to cut the grass, walking to school or riding my bicycle to school, hanging out the wash to dry because we didn't even own a dryer. And no, our family did not live in poverty; this was the way most people lived at one time. There are many more examples in that post, and if you are at all interested in this, I would encourage you to go to the Retirement Forum and read it. It's funny how things sometimes come full circle.

I'm sure it's full of good info but it's only accessible by friends of the OP.
