So wouldn't it better if the whole world would be just one country?

1. There'd be no wars
2. It would be harder for terrorsists and and criminals to hide
3. Even if somebody will steal a lot of money, it will still remain in the country
4. Cooperation rather than competition (not the communistic kind of cooperation, of course but still - no stupid "be the first in space/on the moon racing".
5. No language barriers
6. No political conflicts
7. With official freedom of the world religion the religious tensions will fade.

Or is the world fine the way it is?

I don't know about all of that. It's an interesting concept.

It would get pretty redundant to just have one culture in the entire world, and it would be EXTREMELY different.

But if you mean, mash all the current cultures together in one super country, I don't imagine that would fair well. It would be segregated unbelievably, which adds a tremendous amount to racial tension.

Most people on these forums go ballistic if they hear people speaking Spanish on the bus. How are you going to deal with 90% of the "country" speaking a foreign language? Or is part of the deal to impose a "your language only" rule?

I think the cultures would remain and they'd even be nurtured.
Like Hawaii. their native culture remains as a tourist asset. that's the beauty of the market economy

I think people will just learn one and the same language over time. I say English is a perfect fit here - it's quite easy to learn, fun to master and most of the people speak it already anyways.
It's gonna be like in the Ukraine - everybody speaks two languages - Russian (for communication with other post soviet countries) and Ukranian (as a national traditional language).

Everything you have in that list goes against human nature which is the one thing you can't change. To say that eliminating all borders will automatically eliminate all conflict is utterly preposterous. I don't even agree with my next door neighbor on politics and we're members of the same HOA. I'm sorry but what you are suggesting is a pipe dream and nothing more. It will NEVER happen and if it does, I will drench my most beloved possessions in gasoline and light them on fire. That is how sure I am.

I don't mean to come off as harsh but it's just not realistic. Sorry.

logic fail. it's putting people together that don't get along or don't want to be around eachother that creates racial tension.

it would be a lot more peaceful if things were more clear and in the open such as certain areas designated for certain lifestyles or interests. it would lessen a lot of the racial tension. as it is currently, people don't know or can't control where their job is, who thier neighbors will be or anything.

if there was a kkk town, a black town, an asian town and a multicultural town. it would be very easy to know which one you would like according to your values and also those there.

for instance, if a town's sign was clearly for kkk types, that would warn everyone and attract all the racist whites there. who would want to live around that except for them? but they would be happy and content. how about those who want to just live among blacks and no one else? it's clear then there is no confusion or trouble.

it's the same with a multicultural district as that is for everyone who wants to live amongst all different races. but since everything is already multiculturally forced, there is racial tension because people don't really have much choice wherever they go. it's either they will offend or will be offended.

that said, it's true though that even in this hypothetic situation, it probably will not remain peaceful because people are not happy for long unless they brew some type of trouble, they want someone to project thier animosity to. so perhaps in the end it makes no difference either way.

i can foresee that some people will not be happy with too much contentedness and thrive on trouble. i know people like this that's thier basic nature. they have to be boasting to somebody or comparing to somebody etc. i can just see people in one area crossing to another just to start trouble or because they are not like them and develop prejudice anyways.

You really believe that there wouldn't be wars if you eliminated national boundaries and made everyone salute a single flag? Also, I don't know why this occurs to me, but creating a single world country might not eliminate language barriers. Unless we're talking about some kind of utopian novel-like setting (though dystopia might be closer to the truth).

If this happened what would the world's armies and their suppliers do for a living? What would happen to all the time, effort and money spent on WAR? Where would all the ex soldiers go? What would happen to the PROFIT?

logic fail. That would work perfectly, until somebody wants to have a socialist town. Then they have to be invaded and destroyed, and we're right back to having strife again. Or a town that doesn't believe in God. Or a pro-choice town.
