With two or three exceptions every post on this thread has come from the Blame-America-its-all-our-fault-we-are-evil crowd.These leftists are likely still mourning the collaspe of the Soviet Union.How contemptible they are.While no nation has ever been perfect,and every nation has done deeds that are questionable,America has come about as close as is humanely possible to achieve greatness.How sad that those that denigrate their nation have never grasped this.

Isn't it amazing how there has always been an overwhelming majority of people in the USA (with two or three exceptions) who advocated and sympathized with Soviet Communism and its bedfellows. Yet, in every elecltion, the number of people nationwide who voted for candidates who reflected such a view was always literally in the hundreds.
I wonder how that can be explained.
The Communist Party candidate for president was Gus Hall, in five different elections. In his best year (1976), he got 0.0637% of the vote. The fact that a person is to the left of YOU does not make him a communist, nor even a leftist.

Hundreds?How about tens of millions of votes?The man we not long ago elected to lead our nation is a hard line Marxist/Leninist whose goal is to turn the USA into a clone of the old Soviet Union.There have been several threads with hundreds of posts on this topic,so someone besides myself is thinking along the same lines.
Bascailly these are the same people who thought after the cold war ended under reagn that there would be a huge peace dividend which never came true as problem continued as they do for all leading countries in their time at leadership. Always a challenger.
No I don't see the USA coming to an end soon. I have to wonder where some of these people live who posted back a few messages. They are free to leave if they don't like it here in the USA. If they live in another country then it seems they are just doing some wishful thinking.
Things here in the USA are not perfect nor is it perfect anywhere else. However it looks like for the most part the country is coming out of the recession slowly. Big deal! We have some bad months and people think the country is ending.
I have always disliked the adage of "Love it or leave it," since the 60s. I plan to stay no matter what, and do what little I can to improve things, one day at a time. What else can one Man do?
I have to admit, our track record of picking our leaders, could use a little improvement. Dr. Ron Paul, gets my vote, every time.
He gets everybody's. His is one of those districts where there was only one candidate on the ballot, and he was elected without opposition. In every congressional election, about 10-15% of all Americans are disenfranchised by the absence of a second name on the ballot. In the whole state of Arkansas, there wasn't a single voter who had two candidates to pick from in the 2008 congressional election. They got the same choice that Iraqis got when they voted for Saddam Hussein.
That explains a lot about how we pick our leaders.
Not to get into Politics here, but I heard him speak from the back of a flat bed truck, thirty something years ago.--He has not changed his stance on American freedom, and the importance of sticking to the Constitution, in all these years. a true "American Statesman", in my book.--to bad he don't come off better on TV.
