The area is really about at the juncture of Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and North Buckhead, an area known locally as "Pill Hill" because of the proliferation of Hospitals and medical offices there.

Northside has a pretty good rep, especially for obstetrics...St Joseph's (across the street) also is well-regarded. Scottish Rite Pediatric Hospital is also located on the Hill.
As far as neighborhoods, some of the best in the city surround the Hill.

Yes this true...I agree...there is also a hospital up 400 in Alpharetta...and I think off of Milton pkway exit...there have been some medical office parks off of there...I think there is also a Northside surgical center or medical campus in that area. Northside, Scottish Rite and Saint joseph's are definitely tops. Then the one in Alpharetta is basically a burb hospital... it is decent....but I havent lived there in a while so I dont know what the current rep is. You also Ga baptist hospital too...it is also a teaching hospital...and Emory too.

I wish I could tell you who runs the hospitals there...but I cant remember...used to be HCA...but I am out of the loop anymore. I used to work for a doc in Alpharetta. I would look up Northside website and see if they have those affiliate hospitals/surgical centers that are in Alpharetta(which is a nice area too). Good luck too.

Smile Hospitals

There are some great hospitals here in GA - Northside is one of the best but Emory is one of the best known. If you want to stay out of Atlanta area Emory has also opened another hospital in the Alpharetta/Johns Creek area. There is also another hopsital in Alpharetta/Roswell called North Fulton Hospital. Thanks you all, for your very helpful input! One of my other concerns is a good school district for my son who will be entering 6th grade and my dtr. who is going into 12th.My son has been in a private school up to this point and is very excited about trying a public school. My husband and I are admittedly VERY nervous but willing to give this a try.Any suggestions????
