I am a monument builder so i make headstones as a 5th generation in my trade and have been doing it for 6 years now. I'm looking for a small farm town because thats the kind of towns i grew up living in, that might have a monument shop. fishin and hunting are big to me so i am looking for an area like that back in the woods. No citys, not for me.

I lived in Baxley for 12 years in the 1970's and it was a one red light town then. I went thru it recently and it has had a growth spurt and now has several red lights. I liked it then and I like it now, Plenty of hunting in the area, the finest river , the Altamaha in Georgia. Not too far from the coast for day trips to fish salt water. The folks there are friendly. I am certain they have a monument shop, but I can't remember it. The city/county gets a lot of tax money from the Georgia Power nuclear plant where I worked . I think you would like it. The only thing is, the locals bragged, they were centrally located and they were right. It was about 100 miles in every direction to almost everything. Check it out.

I'd look at Baxley, Alma, Blackshear and other small towns in that area . They sound like what you are looking for.

Elberton is the granite capital of the US, I think. It's a charming small town in NE Georgia. There are at quite a few monument companies up there and dozens of quarries. I'm not sure what the job market is like right now, but you'd have plenty of opportunities.

There are lots of deer to hunt and decent fishing nearby, as well.
