we are considering moving to north georgia, no set time yet, just looking. dalton georgia seems to have a very large population of hispanics, per last data they make up about 50% of the population.
The crime rate is also pretty high, but that data may be old.
Blairsville looks pretty but it may be a bit small. we need god schools, i am a nurse and want to work for the va and we also have a police officer in the family

Dalton consists largely of industry, particularly carpet and textile. It does have a much higher Latino and Minority population. Its geographical location on Interstate 75 has led to a lot of growth over the years, and I imagine this will continue.

Blairsville is much more rural, and isolated. It's one of the most beautiful areas in the state. In stark contrast to Dalton, it has very low minority population (as do the surrounding counties.)

I can't comment on the quality of the schools in these areas, though I suspect Dalton would be better in this regard.
