1. Town in Michigan: Grand Blanc. Sounds French, like "Grawn Blawnc".
Natives pronounce it: Grand Blank
I'd hate to say that came from a big nothing. But I guess they don't mind.
2. There's a town in NC called Eden. Really pretty name, right? But it was formerly three small towns:
Leaksville, Draper, and Spray.
Sure can understand why they merged and changed names. Who want to say they come from Spray. you know. Right down the road a bit from Leaksville?
