Many Quebecois don't even want to be in Canada, they would secede from America at a much faster rate I'm sure. Even non separatists would join the momentum in that circumstance. I'm pretty sure we would see more North American balkanization before we'd ever see Quebec as part of the US.

Canada wouldn't be Canada without Ontario. That's like taking NYC and DC out of the US. And what would the US do with the Maritimes? It's like we'd get a big extension of Maine more or less.

What would we do with the Maritimes ? Alaska has oil, and a better tourism industry.

No.

Ontario and the Maritimes dont bring much to the table. The Maritimes is the poorest region in Canada, let alone the US, and one would imagine large swaths of people would choose US citizenship. They have already threatened to attempt joining the US on numerous occasions, the latest being in the early 90's. It would be a burden with few benefits.

Ontario wouldnt offer much we dont have. It is significantly less productive and less efficient than American states and the inhabited land offers little that the bordering states dont have. It is a 'have not' state which has been financially mismanaged for a very long time. This is all despite the fact that it has been the most populous and powerful province and the center of Canadian and British North American government since the mid 1800's.

Alaska on the other hand has huge oil reserves, a thriving tourism industry, countless resources, and vast untouched beauty. It is very unique as a state. People have an independent and self sufficient mentality. It streches along the vast Pacific coast providing innumerable fjords and harbors for the navy and fisherman. Ill take Alaska.

It is a better catch in its current state than Ontario and most defintely the Maritimes.

How about we keep Alaska and annex willing Canadian provinces & territories when their federation inevitably falls apart due to the frost frogs in Quebec?

Doesnt sound like much of a deal for Canada, giving up the Maritimes which i'll assume also includes Newfoundland, Ontario and BC all just for Alaska? I'd take a pass on that offering.
