There are many distinct accents in Blacks throughout the US. Here are the main one's I can distinguish.
-Seattle: Least stereotypical "Black" sounding
-California: Diluted Southern with rhoticy
-NYC/Jersey: A bit similar to White NYC accent
-Philly:
-Baltimore: distinct from Southern and Northern accents
-DC:
-Midwestern:
-Chicago: Southernish sounding
-Southern: We call this accent "Country" out here on the West Coast.
- Miami:
- New Orleans:
-Charleston/Gullah: Caribbean Sounding
^ Sounds like the NYC accent with a bit of Southern. I think NYC Blacks are the only Blacks that don't have a Southern influence in thier accent.
I would say that NYC black accents have a "bit" of southern influence to their accents considering they say words like "yall" however, it seems like only the northeastern black accents ( NYC, Philly, Jersey, Ct maybe Boston though I'm not too sure because I never been there) are the only black accents to have very little southern influence to their accents. This may apply to Pacific northwestern blacks too but I'm not too sure.

Blacks in New York sound absolutely nothing like blacks in the south. New Orleans? Yes. Augusta, Georgia? Heck no.
Nas sounds nothing like Ludacris.

I didn't say that NYC blacks sound southern because I know that they don't. I was responding to the claim that NYC blacks have no southern influence to their accents which is wrong because NYC blacks say "yall" which obviously originates from the south. Most Chicago blacks sound very southern so I strongly disagree with you. Chicago blacks sound completely different from blacks from NYC, Philly, Jersey and possibly Boston, which all don't sound southern at all.

It applies to Pac NW Blacks too. Blacks in Seattle have neutral American accents with very slight Southern influences. Here's how they sound.
The black accent in Chicago isn't merely "Southernish-sounding." It's straight-up old-school Mississippi, conspicuously non-rhotic in one of the most rhotic regions in the English-speaking world.
