If you weren't from there but had to be there for some reason. I've heard people say they wouldn't go into Detroit, Atlanta, mia hoods without being armed. But how much could it really help if a pack of thugs that are all armed try to rob and attack you?

Based on Chicago's murder rate, I'd say being armed would help you a ton. Chicago is anti-gun, they make it very tough for law abiding citizens to defend themselves. With more liberal gun laws, Chicago would be a much safer city.

It would obviously help a little bit but if you're just walking for many blocks and everyone knows you don't belong their and might try to target you would it really help that much? Assuming that they are probably armed too.

If the laws were more favorable to the law abiding, the criminal scum would not know who is armed and who is not. Right now they can assume any non thug is not packing. Chicago is a national disgrace.

Yeah. Is it just contained in the south and west side or does it spread downtown as well? I was there 2 years during the taste of Chicago and 2 people got stabbed a few blocks fom my hotel. Is that normal? But how do you let em know you're packing? Does Chicago have tight gun regulation or no?

I can't speak for most cities, but a lot of shootings in Chicago that are not with gangbangers as victims usually happen because of drive by or a random bullet. Many innocent people that do get murdered in Chicago is not because someone was going after them, it's because the shooter was aiming to shoot someone else but of course misses and hits a random vicitim. I am not sure if you had a gun on you if it would really help.

My opinion, anyone where it's proven that they are in a gang should automatically get executed. That's really the only reason the U.S. has high murder rate, it's because of our gangs. I have no sympathy for them and really could care less if they die. They are among some of the lowest people on this Earth. No respect for life and just wasting the life of others.

None of these cities are "hood". A entire city cant be "hood" because of some bad areas. Even detroit has redeeming areas

My personal opinion, I think there are benefits to being able to carry again but then I also think it could disatrous. I think either way you will lose out some way.

Completely prohibiting guns won't entirely solve the problem, and leaves many victims defenseless in certain cases.

But allowing most people to have a gun everywhere they go can also have horrible consequences. I mean look at the father who accidentally killed his son by shooting him in Conneticut because his son was playing a prank. If guns were allowed to be carried everywhere these stories would be a dime a dozen. I mean I have seen so many bar fights in my 20's and I can only imagine how bad they could get if these people had guns on them, killing each other or possible innocent bystanders.
