Baltimore shouldn't even be considered IMO compared to the other cities. I think there is way to much going on in NYC and DC to be considered the "best" sports city. Boston is easy to say due the success they've had in recent years but once they start to dwindle all the bandwagon fans will jump ship. I give the nod to Philly as the best sports city.

Philly and Boston for sure. Most NYC teams, while historic and surely have loyal fans, just feel like tourist attractions more than anything else (the Yankees and Knicks especially). LOL at anyone un-ironically picking B'more and especially DC.
Does "too much going on" automatically make those cities better sports cities than Baltimore?
I don't think there is anything wrong with Baltimore sports. I just don't think they are on the same level as the other cities mentioned on this post. I'd say they are more on par with sports cities like Cleveland, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and St. Louis.

It is easily between Boston and Philly. Although, NYC (at least when you go to the outer Burroughs) is a pretty historic sports town. The Northeastern cities in the Bos-Wash corridor are on another level than DC and Baltimore.
lol not even half the people in the DC area are Redskins fans, they're by far the worst town in all sports in which they have a team except soccer in the whole Northeast.
I would say all but DC are great sports towns but I'd give Boston the overall best ranking over all the sports. Baltimore is a bit lower since they don't have as many teams but they love their Ravens and O's.
Far worst in ALL sports? Not accurate at all. Capitals fans are great. Their home attendance last year was 100%. The only other team to do that out of the cities mentioned was Boston who also came in at 100%. I think the Capitals have over 450 consecutive sell outs right now.
I don't follow other DC sports, but to call Capitals fans "the worst" is flat out wrong.
Football=Philly easily
Baseball=NYC or Boston
Basketball=Boston
Boston or Philly would be most diehard overall.
