Actually, year round warm weather does sound pretty miserable to me. Unless by "warm" you mean 50s and 60s.

Nightlife.. you can find good nightlife in a lot of other metros and again, it's not for everyone.
So why are you living in Miami if you despise everything about it so much? As for temperatures in Miami you due realize you are living in the sub-tropics right?

Some of the hottest girls I've ever met are in Toledo. It's like a city full of Jennifer Anistons (circa Friends season 3). Who can be miserable with that talent to look at? That reason alone de-validates this list.

My thoughts exactly as soon as I saw it was a Forbes list. I think most of us on C-D have realized a long time ago that Forbes lists are garbage with little to know substance behind them. Also, anybody compelled to make a most miserable cities list is not somebody I want to rely on for opinions or fabricated lists.

These type of lists are more than just how much you can party.

Huge violent crime rates.
Illegal drugs everywhere.
Terrible school districts.
High divorce rates.
Horrible commutes.

Who would really think you could raise a family anywhere close to there and be happy...

I disagree with this list. Pontiac, MI should be on it. Its in way worse shape than Detroit.

sooo... LA? Come on man... are you really trying to put clout on a Forbes Most Miserable Cities list? Even the worst of the worst posters realize these lists are a complete and utter joke.

Huge violent crime rates. Violent crimes? Try New Orleans,Detroit,& countless other cities first

Illegal drugs everywhere. As if illegal drugs don't exist in other parts of the country? Another misconception! If you aren't into drugs this is a non-issue.

Terrible school districts. The state of Florida just gave Miami-Dade county schools a grade of "B" for it's performace on the statewide academic FCAT tests

High divorce rates. This is endemic to Miami when the divorce rate is 50% nationwide? You must be joking!

Horrible commutes. This one I will agree with you but the Miami metro is landlocked between the ocean & the Everglades & only has two highways that travel North & South hence the congestion

Who would really think you could raise a family anywhere close to there and be happy...
I was raised in Miami along with my siblings & have lived in the area for over 3 decades now. The issues you describe are not endemic to Miami only and it happens in large metros all acrosss the nation. People have a lot of misconceptions about Miami most which are based on old stereotypes and your post reeks of them!
I find it funny that people say they wouldn't raise a kid here then move to some suburban quiet place & then find out there are gangs & drugs in schools too.
