Janice Turner has seen Olive Branch flourish over the last two decades. A small town became Mississippi's ninth-largest city as thousands of people relocated across the state line from Memphis.
Not one of those cities I have a desire to even visit, let alone live.
Not surprising. It's clearly not a list of where C-D people like to move, but places where Americans in general are moving or like.
In my two years here I'd say C-Ders generally hate suburbs, cars, and heat. Americans seems to like, or at least not mind, all those things. Granted some on their list are in the Northwest or Midwest, but from what I can tell those places are suburbs. C-Ders also tend to be people who need excitement and energy. Many Americans have families or just like a quiet life.
Oddly I don't care that much for cars and heat either. Although I don't have a generalized thing against suburbs and I think I could be fine with a car-oriented place. (Not a hot place though, I have medical issues with heat) Besides being disabled I'd need my van almost wherever I live. I do like quiet, or at least I'm pretty much never bored unless I get quite ill, and I like my family so that may make me rather different.
I don't care for Olive Branch. Even though it has a high average household income, it's still looked down upon compared to the rest of the Memphis suburbs
