Male, widowed, prefer liberal communities. Loved Eugene, Ore. but couldn't hack the cloud cover. Currently in Cave Creek, AZ -- very beautiful and charming but too conservative for my tastes. I am "spiritual". My business is for sale and thus expect to be free and mobile sometime in the first six months of next year. Love the ocean, not good with cold.

Ideas?

Check out Gulfport, Florida...a quirky little town on Boca Ciega Bay and very close to St Pete Beach.

Thank you, Kyle. I've never been to Florida (but for a few days in Orlando, which I'm sure does not actually feel like Florida), but this town does seem interesting. I like the apparent sense of community there. One potential drawback for me is the high average age of the population. Although I'm 46 I "skew young" and most people think I'm mid-30's - and that's how I feel.

Another place in FL that has caught my eye is St. Augustine.

Comments and further suggestions are all appreciated!
