With major moving companies you are usually not the only one on the truck, so it would be a problem. If your possessions are the only ones on the truck with this company you could call and see if it is a practice the company would accommodate, though the driver may store things in the truck that won't fit in the cab and he needs access to. It could be cut off by police if the decide to do a search of the truck.
Dogmama50 is right. It's doubtful but it doesn't hurt to ask, particularly if you are going to be the only customer on the truck. When I drove, I got into my trailer two or three times a day to access clothes, tools, truck equipment and other personal items stored there.
Security seals similar to that displayed above are routinely used in the transportation industry when an individual customer chooses to pay for 'exclusive use' of the transportation vessel.
For a full service intra- or interstate household goods mover that uses a traditional 53' foot, hi-cube trailer with a capacity of 4300 cubic feet, this means that the shipper would have to pay for a transportation linehaul and related accessorial expenses based on 30,100 lbs. (4300 cu.ft x 7 lbs per cubic foot.)
If an 1800 cu. ft. straight truck were used, the transportation cost would be based on 12,600 lbs.
If you're moving moving domestically or internationally via either a 20' (1172 cuft), 40' (2390 cuft) or 40' hi (2694 cu ft) intermodal or ocean freight shipping container, you would multiply the capacity by 7 lbs per cuft to determine an approximate transportation weight.
Metal security seals are also routinely used on Type II wooden liftvan that normally are constructed in either 195 or 205 cu ft.
