i want a low maintenance garden. i have planted some umbrella palms, another young palm tree and some different grasses that sprout feathers and tiny flowers, i want to add agaves and succulents, but im not sure how.

i have seen some of these gardens layered with rocks on top. a very desert feeling. im nor really looking for that. i would like suggestions on how to plant, what to plant, how much to plant.

i am placing these plants in a section of my yard that is about 12 by 12 feet. can be bigger, but i would like a nice low maintenance vignette of a garden.
any help is appreciated.

..If you are concerned about the mature size of any Agave species you might wish to add..there are several outstanding species which do not grow taller than roughly 3 or 4 feet tall..
