I was just wondering if anyone of you gardeners of flowers or vegetables/fruits or a combination of the three do companion planting and have any stories or tips to share?!

I've read about planting corn and after it is up good then planting pole type beans along the corn for the nitrogen fixing of the beans. Then in the middles pumpkins were planted to shade the ground. I have not tried it yet but I'm going to at first opportunity.

Default Here is one of my experiments!...

It consist of corn, sunflower, a few squashes, bush beans, cucumbers and canteloupe.

The pic is "outdated"; will post a newer one later!

The squash is definitely suppressing the weeds and keeping the ground relatively moist.
