Hello All,

I recently purchased a property and while walking the property one day I discovered a lonely pear tree with several bunches of little pears. 2 weeks later, I examined the tree again and the pears have now at least tripled in size. They are now about 3-1/2 inches high and 2-1/2 inches wide. I have no idea about pears and was hoping someone could look at the pics and help me identify the pear. Also, some tips on when to pick/ripening/etc would be wonderful!

Thanks in advance.

Sorry pics are so big

It looks like the very common garden variety Bartlett pear. This coming winter you should learn to prune, yours is in need of it and will produce a lot more fruit, avoid branches breaking from the weight of the fruit, and be healthier with annual pruning.

As said above, more than likely a Bartlett Pear.
