Has anyone heard of infections of legionnaires disease (an atypical pneumonia) in the area, or who have visited recently?

Symptoms are often similar to flu (but often even more severe, and potentially fatal). It's more likely to affect older people and those with weakened immune systems.

There are many info links on the web. Here is one:

????

We’ve lived here 20+ years. Haven’t heard a peep. I’m also on NextDoor, a community based social media platform that shares information with about 5,000 households. The only thing I’ve hear about recently are icy patches, lost cats and dogs and misdelivered packages. Frederick, Md is however home to Ft. Detrick and USAMRIID, which has a BSL 4 facility for studying the deadliest of communicable diseases and that sometimes generates a lot of rumors. I do know a couple folks with Lyme Disease because of the over abundance of deer. Some (deer, not folks) have slept on our front porch, under our deck, etc. They’re everywhere.
