30+ years in the very towns you mentioned is my basis. I didn't say they were full of abandoned buildings (although there are many of those too). I said they were old and run down. And they are. Get over yourself.

You haven't defined "run-down." Simply saying "and they are" isn't a very compelling answer. I have defined what "run-down" means to me, and those towns don't qualify.
