I agree that Baltimore is most certainly "very Maryland", but that doesn't mean Maryland is "very Baltimore."

Back to the question at hand…after some reflection, I’m happy that Frederick has its own forum. I guess an argument could be made to include it in a DC Maryland Suburbs forum, as well as an argument to include it with some kind of mega, western MD forum. But ultimately I believe the mods made the right decision, in giving Frederick its own sub-forum. The DC suburbs of MD are to the east, beyond several small ridges. The western portions of the state lie to the west, beyond several larger ridges. Frederick, as one of MD’s largest cities, occupies the large valley that divides those areas, and ultimately, can be claimed by neither. Frederick stands on its own, and rightly so.

On the other hand, it does seem like an interesting city, and unique part of Maryland.
Cheers to Frederick! Seems like an interesting town.

I don't get this sub-forum, either.

Urbanity is proving to be the death of Maryland's smaller cities between D.C. and Baltimore.
