Their website is pretty vague about what they are all about and doesn't describe much about the intent of the program, other than when it was established and how it is intended to "enhance" lifelong learning opportunities. Who is this for? Are there financial restrictions? Can anyone apply and just receive textbooks and class material with no limit on the number of classes and or options to learn? Once completed, are any credits that can be college accredited?

It (llu) has to be funded by something; private donations or state money. Can you tell us a little more about what it's really all about? There are opportunities all around the DFW metroplex, afforded by many cities for their residents, by the county and state programs. The llu website doesn't detail how they operate or what their intended goal is other than to "enhance educational opportunities." There are a lot of institutions in the DFW area that offer those opportunities. The city in which I live offers many classes for residents; some at a small cost and some are free. Good luck on your move!

I delved into the website a little more and it appears there is a small fee. The classes and structure of the curriculum looks similar to those that would be offered by the city of Hurst to its residents. We get a publication every few months here in Hurst that detail all of the classes offered, the list is very long, and there are a wide variety, much like those that appear to be offered by LLU.

For city of Hurst residents, there's usually a small registration fee of 10 or 12 dollars - some are even free. I'm not sure about Watauga, but you'll probably have several options to attend similar classes in Tarrant County, if the city of Watauga doesn't offer those services.

dallas has classes more like what you mentioned originally---don't remember the name of the sponsoring agency but realtively low cost and things like cooking classes and art museums and stuff---but that is kind of far to drive especially for stuff during the week...
TCC has continuing classes offered at all their campuses for fee--the Hurst and Bedford rec program also has some stuff like that...
you could Google fort worth and lesiure classes and see if anything comes up...
