As cutting horse enthusiasts, we are considering a move to the Weatherford area. How is the commute? Also, what kind of $ are we looking at to buy a decent, newer house (2500 sq ft or so) with 10-20 acres of land? Thanks to all.

My aunt just looked to moving into that area. Take a look at one of the realty sites, I have a good one if you want me to pm you, let me know. I think you will find it reasonable.

Weatherford is a community in and of itself, but the commute into Fort Worth is about 30 mins, not sure with traffic. I am sure someone else will add their experience.

My husband works in Downtown FTW--he has people in his office that live in the Aledo area west of Fort Worth, between Weatherford and FTW off I20--
they have been complaining of the commute time saying that for the past year it has been getting worse--for people who live close to the freeway to get on and off, the drive into downtown takes maybe 30 min in morning and more in afternoon--especially if there is wreck on I-20/30...
You can add another 15 min or so to get from Aledo west to Weatherford---
the problem is not necessarily just the freeway time but how far off into the country you are from the freeway---
That is the main route into FTW -- not really any other roads to go that I am aware of that you can drive with any speed...
Will you be working in downtown or in other areas--or do you know---

Weatherford may be what most people think of for cutting horses but there are many places that have acreage and allow horses...
