There's some great restaurants in Arlington that I miss now that I moved to Fort Worth. I never went to Fridays when I lived there. If I was young and single though, I'd choose the Fort Worth locations you recommended over Arlington. The Sundance area is a fun place to live too. bmantx's ideas aren't good ones for someone young and single. They are where you move once you start a family. The Fort Worth Reddit is pretty active.

As someone who lives in Arlington, I'd suggest Fort Worth. The reasons are essentially the same as what everyone else has said. If you weren't someone inclined to bars and that single lifestyle, I'd say it didn't matter.

Dallas is okay, but it seems more expensive there from what I've heard in the last few years, as well as more congested. Not that FW doesn't have traffic, but Dallas traffic seems worse. I can't argue that Dallas has a lot to offer, but FW is catching up quickly and is a very close second in many ways.

Austin - no. From friends there it is incredibly crowded and the traffic is unreal. Yeah, there are many really great things about Austin, but they come with a price. The people I know there moved to Austin for what it was in the 80s and 90s, and lament what it has become.
