thinking that we might have to do window replacements--ours are original ones--aluminum with double paned glass--nice windows in their day but they are almost 25 yrs old--I know this is not something we will see a big return on if we do go ahead and sell our home and move even with increasing energy costs--
our siding has also deteriorated and probably needs to be replaced--house is mainly brick--just a few sections on back upper area...

have checked Angie's List and companies in Tarrant area don't have many referrals--anyone here actually USE someone to replace windows/siding

don't post here -- don't want to get into issues with advertising
just send a private message with your info if you don't mind

also anyone with info about a good quality window--I know there are couple of companies in this area that make windows--don't think I need to buy Marvin or Pella for name appeal if there are local companies just as good (and maybe better)...

If I wa installing new windows I'd look at the new tinted ones. We looked a few new houses with them and they were really nice. (no ugly solar screens!!)

See if you can find a company that installs a variety of different manufacturers windows. We did that for our house in Austin. It was a company that mostly did replacement of existing windows and had a variety of window types and manufacturers at different price points.
