Is it me or does Godley seem like it is getting more press lately as the latest place outside Fort Worth for new homes, good schools, low crime, high quality of life, etc.? Similar to where Aledo was 10 plus years ago, before the word spread and a lot of people started getting priced out? Similar to the way the Richardson/Plano/Frisco phenomenon was back in the day in the north Dallas burbs? Interested in your thoughts...

I'm not sure Godley is the new Richardson or Plano or ever will be. There does seem to be some growth in the area. Probably too far from major employers at this point to see big big growth, but will see some based on price point. Take a look at downtown Cleburne. Nice city, but I would not say growth has taken it over yet.
You might also look at Granbury.

Many of the "old money" folks in Aledo are moving to Brock. Their football program is only a couple years old and is already winning state championships.

Yeah, my wife's family is from Aledo. Brock is the new Aledo. That's where everyone she grew up with who is still in the general area is moving to. Aledo was never a Richardson/Plano/Frisco. It's more of a Sunnyvale.

Agreed, Brock is the new Aledo. Although I don’t think it competes with Aledo in terms of convience and being close to FW. I just drove out to Brock the other day and man it feels like a hike.

Once the Walsh Ranch development gets underway Aledo will just become a new suburb of Ft Worth, not the rural town it once was. We looked at houses in Brock because we want land but spending 3 hours in the car commuting everyday just didn't seem worth it.

I think the Walsh Ranch people will tend to stay in their little city and not go to the next exit...Although that is just it, an exit away.

Except that they are still planning on building a nice new HEB grocery in Hudson Oaks. They also just opened a Chick-Fil-A right across the road. That whole area will be flooded with soccer moms driving their BMWs.
