I like that Foundry district design.

I read that the Ikea store is on the west side of 161. The area that i'm talking about is just north of the outlet mall on I-20.

Yeah, I knew that. Just a quick online search came up with an apartment complex, Reserve at Grand Prairie. 3 stories, 250 or so units. Maybe that's it.

Panther Island news:

The first project proposed for Panther Island, a 5 floor multi-family project called: Encore Panther Island. To begin construction Summer 2017.

Quote:
The first large private development for the Panther Island District was announced Oct. 20 and officials behind the Trinity River Vision project say they expect to see many announcements follow.

“This announcement just opened the next phase of Panther Island – dynamic vertical growth,” said J.D. Granger, executive director of the Trinity River Vision Authority, the organization responsible for the implementation of the Trinity River Vision (TRV) plan.

Encore Multi-Family LLC, a subsidiary of the Dallas-based Encore Enterprises Inc., announced Oct. 20 it is officially under contract to break ground on the first private development on Panther Island. The 233,198 square-foot multi-family community, called Encore Panther Island, will connect the streetscape to the Riverwalk environment planned for the district. Residents will have waterfront balconies, an infinity pool with cascading waterfalls, a state-of-the-art fitness facility and a top floor lounge that will feature views of downtown. Located at the intersection of 4th Street and North Main Street, residents at the 300-unit community will be walking distance to neighbors such as Panther Island Brewing, Coyote Drive-In and Panther Island Pavilion.

It's exciting to see.

We had to wait for Washington legislation to really get things going. Should be seeing more dirt moving soon.
