The people at the Kimball don't want to be overshadowed.

But this is a major city, and they're just going to have to accept that it's growing... with growth comes dense development.

As an update to the Renovo Hotel (the one we just talked about in these last couple posts), it has been reduced to 8 floors and about 170 rooms instead of 210.

...better than not having it at all, I suppose.

I wish the Landmark tower still existed. Hard to believe Fort Worth demolished a 30 story tower and replaced it with a parking garage. The building should have been revitalized. SMH

Yeah...

I don't know about trying to revitalize it because that building may have been beyond repair with the tornado damage and amount of asbestos found. BUT, I wish the site was replaced with a new tower.

The only redeemable thing about the garage is that it'll allow for more towers around it. But it's still a disappointment.

There was a good clip on local TV last night about rental housing that provide a subsidy - featured Hillside Apartments. I've lived there many times and paid market rate. 60% of the units are low cost housing.

Good to see they are building more. Sad thing is, people like me, who fall in between low income and moderate income (if I were single). I would not qualify for reduced rent and housing would take up most of my income at a market rate.

Default Near Southside

From Studio 97W, 100 Block, S. Main is getting a facelift and adding another building on the corner of Main and Vickery. The project will be called "SoMa".

Looks to be done in phases. Phase 1 would be restoration of the current buildings. The 2nd phase would be the larger building at the corner.

1111 Penn

This will be a 5-6 story medical office building, located on said address.

Kelly Capital Complex

A 14 unit town home complex on Terrell between St. Louis and May, also from Studio 97W.

New shopping/housing development going in 820 and Old Decatur Road. Should be a large shopping area....people in my housing development aren't happy.

Also, proposed magnet school going in on Old Decatur Road south of McLeroy.

Victory Forest Community Center & Playground in South Fort Worth has halted construction. Has now been fenced up, it seems there has been an issue with paying the contractor. Sad, it seemed to be about 70% done. Hopefully the city resolved the issue soon and fast.
