I was concerned about the Armour Hotel but I like the facade because it will look right in the Stockyards. I'm excited about the food hall.

I'm kinda "meh" on the hotel design, but not surprised. It does fit.

... At the risk of being an "outsider" (which I am!), I haven't yet seen where in FTW the "Dickies' Arena" is being built. Can y'all provide me with the location? AdvTHANXance ...

Apologies for ignorance ... It comes with my age ...

What is the Dickies Arena going to be used for? We don't have any pro teams and we don't get big concerts. TCU sports don't need it. Those all go to Dallas or Grand Prairie, Is it for the Stock Show and Rodeo? Does the rodeo sell out often enough to make it worth it? When we go it's never full. Also, where are people going to park? Parking in that area is already lacking.

The main tenant that's paying for the private portion of the cost is the rodeo. The rodeo sells out most of their performances in the very outdated building it's in now. The new arena allows for growth and provides for suites and more premium seating.

There is a market for concerts in venues this size. The shows that are going to Winstar with non-compete clauses that cover DFW are playing in a venue just slightly smaller than Dickies arena.

Parking shouldn't be a problem. A huge multi-level garage is going up next to the arena, another garage to the north was completed a few years ago, and a number of new surface lots between the new arena and the livestock barns have opened in recent years.
