surely you have a budget--price usually drives living considrations...

are you talking apt or home
rental or purchase

most of those who post here would suggest you not buy a home until you have some idea of what the area is like
the "best" part of Arlington is generally considered the Martin High School area--which is SW section of Arlington

Default arlington

I am needing a 4 bedroom rental home for around 1100-1500 dollars a month. So SW Arlington the Marting HS area is a good area. I have read some reviews and not many good things. I am half hispanic and my wife and kids are hispanic. All the help we can get would be deeply appreciated

there are plenty of Hispanics living in the DFW area
and many mixed ethnic families so I don't really see that as a problem unless you want to live in predominantly Hispanic community

your rent is going to be problem for 4 bedroom house in Marin district I think--because on avg that part of Arlington has the most expensive housing
1500 is low for 4 bedroom house in nice area anywhere

Check a map--
how long are you willing to make a commute
what hours will you be working

road construction is more in the north side of Tarrant county--not along I-20 or I-30 which run through Arlington, although Hwy 360 has construction and roads in Arlington itself are generally poor and have high levels of local traffic all the time

if that is your top dollar for rent then you just have to choose the best school out of available houses

I second the suggestion for any neighborhoods serving Martin HS. Also you can look in Kennedale and Mansfield and have a reasonable drive to Arlington if your job is anywhere south of Division Street. If your job is on the north side near Hwy. 30, also look in Hurst, Bedford or Euless. There are some nice areas in Grand Prairie, too......but on the east side of Arlington and some of Grand Prairie, you have to be pretty careful about which schools serve your neighborhood. Where id your work location?

I've lived in SW Arlington for 30 years. Martin is a good school. Actually, all the public schools in this area are good. This is a diverse area and you will have no problems at all.

Just as an aside: I hope your kids can speak Spanish. That opens a lot of doors for the future. Any 2nd language is advantageous but in these parts Spanish is the one to know.

Welcome to Arlington.

Where is the Army recruiting station? No, I don't want to join up....I'm an Air Force kid and besides I'm way too old.

I know the Navy had a recruiting station in Grand Prairie but I don't know where the Army recruiting station is.
