4000sqft home on a 13000sqft lot?

Hmm that works out to 9000 sq ft of yard.

Honestly, I have that much yard right now.....and I sure wish I had more. I got no room for a shop in my back yard. I can't pull a riding lawn mower around to the back because gate is too narrow. If it's too narrow for a lawn mower that sure nixes the idea of building hot rods in my non-shop-having back yard.

I guess with a 4000 sq ft home you must have at least a three car garage though. Could use the third bay for boat, motorcycle, jetski, hotrod or other hobby.

When we visited we kept going back to Heritage and the Bluffs, just be sure that you are aware that the property taxes are 3.5%. I met someone that just moved in there after having a Toll Brothers house built which they loved but for some reason they had not idea about the high property taxes.

We kept going between that and areas in Haslet. We are building in Vista Ranch on 1.7 acres. My hubby wanted a place for a workshop or possibly a place to store a boat. For the pricepoint, we could have either had a Toll Brothers a little closer to town or we could have a true custom on 1.7 acres in Haslet.

But then again, that isn't anything like the OC

I actually live very close by, on the Fossil Creek Golf course, about a mile south on Beach St. Bluffs does have a nice feeling with a bit of elevation change etc. and Toll Bros. are building some nice homes there. But for the kind of money they are asking for - houses in other areas eg. Wildwood and surrounding have a lot more to offer.

Also - Heritage is not really a master planned community. They trumpet it as such. They've been blowing tumpets about the Alliance Corridore for years now.

Good luck to you & congratulations on your purchase - I am sure you'll be happy and will enjoy it. Bluffs is a nice neighborhood.

Cheers!

Heck my rate is 3.2% and there's certainly nothing glitzy about my neighborhood.

I think Forth Worth is the prettiest and most under appreciated city in the Metroplex. I think you would love it there

Stay in California. Tell everyone you know who plans to move from California to Texas that this place is horrible. Racism is out of control, neighborhoods are horrible, taxes are too high, it's hot - real hot, crime? - out of control, public housing? - yes, plenty and it will ruin your outlook (rat infested and hurts property value), traffic here will make California traffic look like the parking lot at your church after a pancake breakfast.

Best advice, STAY AWAY FROM TEXAS!! PLEASe, DONT MOVE TO TEXAS!!

I don't believe that is friendly or neighborly.

norge44,
Sad to tell you this, but no matter how many people I tell not to move to Texas, as long as home prices are what they are in California, Texas will continue to have an great influx of Californians.

Norg was definately tongue in cheek . Where the problem lies is when Californians come here to Texas and complain it isn't like California. Its Texas and Texas has a spirit all its own. You aren't going to change it to California, it just sounds like whining....and in my little time here as a new Texan, I can tell you Texans, don't like whiners
