Hello, My name is Barb and i have a 14 year old grandson that i will be starting to homeschool soon. I live right on the border of punta gorda and north fort myers. Is there any homeschooling groups that meet in the area that might be closer than driving into Port charlotte or driving over the bridge into Ft. Myers?. Looking for a group that is possible volunteer led (though doesn't have to be), and one that does gym music and possible art and maybe an elective. I belonged to a group in NY when i homeschooled my kids years ago and I taught beginner sign language.

These are the websites I used when I enrolled my daughter for home school with the county, I eventually went private Montessori to avoid standardized testing, common core etc.

This one is for Collier but you might be able to get some resources off of it.

Yes, it's called "one of the many public schools in Lee County or Charlotte County". Of course, you seem to be dead-set on your quest to socially and academically cripple your grandson, so they won't help you much.

Default wanting socialization for m 14 yr old grandson

I'm sorry, I dont see where I was asking for a public school. Just the opposite. I dont want him to take any of the standarized testings... I am just looking for a group that would meet to do physcal activites and other things together. My grandson is 14 and unfortunaely my husband and I had just bought in a 55 plus communtiy prior to my daughters passing. Nobody knew she was even ill. It was a matter of seven days and she was gone. Becuase of where we live, there are not many children to socialize with his age. Just looking for a group where he can make some outside friends and outside interests...
