I'm seeking suggestions for a business to do some minor repairs to my boat. I know there are a lot of boat places in the area; but who is trustworthy and reasonably priced?

My situation: I'm in Minnesota right now but I want to have my boat fixed before coming back down in mid/late July when our new dock and lift will be in. Boat is in my back yard on the trailer (south central Cape Coral). Someone would have to come and fix it at my place, or else come pick it up and drop it off after repair.

Repairs needed: Some gel coat repair confined to an area about a foot long and 1" wide to the stern at the left side and fix a bent (but workable) trim tab and patch/replace two of its screw holes in the stern which pulled out. Touch up the bottom paint in the area. No breaches to the hull, no leaks or anything. Also fix/re-pack the rubber bumper strip into its channel along the left stern area. Perhaps an oil/filter change while they are at it? Don't yet need the 100 hour service though.

The boat got banged against the seawall in that area causing the damage when it was lifted with davits and one of the davits bent/collapsed. Could have been so much worse... I'm trying to determine if this is worth an insurance claim or not and I want to get the repairs done asap.

2006 Sailfish 24' w/Yamaha 225 4-stroke.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi I work for Lee County Boater and I have a few suggestions for you. Try calling Randy at Bob and Annies out in St. James City or call Aron at Gulfside in Matlacha. Hope this helps. Mischelle
