Hi all-

Can someone tell me the good areas north and south of Ft Lauderdale and in between Miami and Ft Lauderdale?

We are both outgoing social people (shes from Brooklyn.Me Queens) so we ideally like to live halfway between Miami and Ft Lauderdale but the world wont end if we dont.

I am also conscious of good schools as well since me and the girlfriend are both early 30s and well... we need to make that priority #2 at this point.

Anything would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks from NY!

Hello,

We are from NY (Brooklyn) and a month ago we moved to Weston. However, it's not the area you are asking about. Both Fort Lauderdale and Miami are on the coast. If you are looking for good schools and more of a suburban environment, you probably need to check out west of Fort Lauderdale. I'm not as familiar to towns as most locals here though.
Weston is a very nice town, great schools, great restaurants, it's safe, it's beautiful. There a lot of other towns there are good too, such as Davie, Cooper City, Sunrise, parts of Plantation.
Personally, my husband and I wouldn't move to Florida if it wasn't for Weston. We just fell in love with this town and everything about it. It's only about 20-30 minutes to Fort Lauderdale and all the nightlife (since we are also very outgoing people and love to go out).
