I'm moving from Tamarac to Hollywood and have a lot of stuff, so I was thinking of using a local moving company. Any suggestions?

Suggest you go to the website www.movingscam.com for a recommendation. If you look in their message boards, you'll find a thread that lists companies by state and their reputations. Whoever you pick, be very careful! Florida is one of the worst states for moving scams.

LOL - just be careful & do you homework and you will be just fine. As much as there are really bad companies out there, there are some really good ones too!

Hi there. I work for an office that insures many Florida movers. I recommend: Professional Movers 305-893-5152 • 1-888-565-MOVE (ask for David) or Moving On Up 954 924 1522 (ask for Tal). Be sure to tell them Dara from One Stop referred you. Good luck with your move!

I have used them here in Vegas, many good reviews under the Moving forum.

What a HORRIBLY laid out website. My gosh..I have seen some pretty bad non user-friendly websites, but this one tops it off ! After the 2nd page, I closed my browser and moved on. Yuck

Funny - I found it very easy to navigate and the information it gave saved me from using a nationally known scam mover. Yeah - there is a lot of information but I find that to be a good thing not a bad one. All the catagories are across the top. Most important one under messages topic is the "master list" that gives the ratings (good, bad or caution) for most moving companies in local areas for each state. To each his own I guess. I'd rather spend time on a website than spend money on a bad mover!
