Just purchased a house 3 months ago in Plantation and it has cast iron pipes. I am aware that these pipes are old, house was built 1963. So yesterday I flushed the master bathroom toilet and sewer water came up the shower and tub. Snaked from the shower, the tub, and the toilet. Took the toilet off snaked again, then snaked from the roof. We are 100% sure it's the cast iron sewer pipe failing. Has anyone had their pipes relined and if so who did you go with? I had one quote before closing on this house for 15k for 90 feet of relining. Not sure if that is expensive or not, but it seems to be expensive to me considering there is no redirecting. Can't wait any longer. Please share your experiences if you have relined sewer pipes and with who.

hello i am a local lic plumber who just saw this site. while i do not do relining a do know of a company that does. in my 20 yrs experience locally 9 times out of 10 drainage problems appear to be from improper pitch of the pipe. since relineing does not ensure pitch of the pipe your problem may not truly be fixed. i do not know if you have had a video of the sewerline done to revel what the problem is but that can certainly be helpful. also my best advice to people with a recurring problem is to call a plumber who has pipe locating equipment. now remember when you pulled the toilet, i believe the pipe would have been full of water. that is perfect ,now when you get the water to drain you can use the locating equipment to find the problem exact location and depth within a few inches. it may also be easier to dig from under the home to make the repair. hope this helps. if you like i am located in the south florida area

Can be dug up and replaced with PVC in one day. mostly just the labor of digging. the 20' lengths of PVC are affordable.
