Hi,
I am writing for my 21 year old son in Fort Collins, trying to get him help. I am wanting to find out more information about Harvest Farm in Wellington, which is about 10 minutes from Fort Collins. I read the information on line, but wondering what it is like, and if anyone has any more specific details/experiences about Harvest Farm.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY HELP!!!
Karen

Our family has enjoyed the fall activities at the Harvest Farm for several years, including the corn maze and associated activities. The residents of the program all seem very friendly and helpful.
I have heard former residents speak about how the program helped them overcome their issues and move on. They seemed genuinely thankful for their time spent there and for the results of the program.

Dear Mike,
That was very nice of you to take the time!!! That is very helpful to know, and encouraging. You never know, things can sound much different on paper. It is helpful to hear some positive comments since we do not live in the area.
Appreciate you!
Karen

I haven't known anyone personally that's gone through the program at Harvest Farm, but I have a friend that I tried to get into the program. He wasn't willing to do it, but the fact that I wanted to get him in there is hopefully a point in the farm's favor.

They're located far enough away from town that there's not a temptation to sneak off and get in trouble. But they also can get rides into town for church and I think for other events as well. Everyone I've talked to when we've been there for the corn maze has been thankful to be there. I'd definitely recommend it. And I like the fact that the program involves the guys in the wider community. It helps them see that they don't have to be entirely separated from the rest of the world to heal. They're mostly separated, but they're still able to provide services that benefit others.

Hi barefootmeg,
Thank you very, very much for taking the time to reply! Your response gives us more reassurance about the program, which appears good on the surface to me, not living in CO myself, my son is in Fort Collins. I also like the community involvement, the idea of serving others while helping yourself. Also the fact that they have community events there seems positive. The place has to be decent looking and safe for community members to come to special events. I think it is a unique opportunity, I have not heard of anything like it elsewhere!
THANKS
Karen
