My wife and I are considering a move to CO. Living in college town with an organ transplant program is important (wifes occupation). Have traveled to CO many times and although we love the Denver area we have determined that the endless sprawl is just to much. Boulder seems to expensive Looking at homes in the 300k area. Does Fort Collins/CSU have what we are looking for? Thanks!

Green Light, an article from the Denver Post, reports that Fort Collins is leading the way in both residential and commercial green building. The city is promoting renewable energy and conservation for both business and civic operations. This focus is evident at city hall, municipal utilities, Colorado State University, public schools and local businesses. Fort Collins' initiatives will help protect consumers and businesses from soaring energy prices. Local brewer New Belgium has received national attention for a system that allows them to capture methane, a brewing waste, and use it to generate electricity. In addition to many other innovations, research is being conducted to replace imported oil with fuel-making algae. The Sierra Club has recognized the city as one of the top four in the nation in promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency.
