Ford threw a launch party on the eve of the 24 hours of Daytona race and CEO Jim Farley expressed his commitment to continue to build V8 Mustangs, and to use their racing program's innovations to feed ideas into their production vehicles.

The Camaro and the Challenger/Charger are no more, but the Mustang lives on. It seemed like the best and most practical all-around car of the surviving pony cars, so I think it's fitting that it's the last one standing.

One glimmer of hope for Dodge, they are doing a new flexible platform that enables easier changing between ICE, EV and hybrid. Some manufacturers are waiting to see if there is a change in government direction from the 2024 election, and Stellantis wants to be ready.

Mustang looks enter and better with every generation. I had a 96 GT convertible which was very slow. Hope to get into the new mustangs 5.0 before I go stiff.

I just bought a used 2016 Mustang GT 5.0 with low miles and a manual trans. I was planning on just driving it occasionally, but it's so much fun to drive that I'm having a hard time resisting driving it most of the time rather than my other (more fuel efficient) car.

I've never had a car with over 400 horsepower. When I was younger I had a 57 chevy hotrod and a 70 Camaro, but those didn't even come close to the power or quickness of the Mustang. It's amazing how much horsepower stock performance cars push these days (even on 4-cylinders). Back in the day, you'd be doing some pretty serious mods to get 350 horsepower out of a 327 V8 (that's what I had in the 57 chevy, but it was maybe 320 horsepower, and that's being generous, and getting like 8 mpg with a huge Holley carburetor!).
