I just bought a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis and I didn't do my research to be honest with you. So, I'm curious to know if there is any pros and cons of owning these cars? What do you guys like and dislike about them? I would love to hear your answers. Thanks!

I have a 2003 that my mother drives. I had to replace the leaking intake manifold with an improved design, but thats really the only issue it's had, other than normal maintenance. I think models with the auto climate control have had some weird quirks, but mine doesn't have that.

My mom actually prefers driving it over her Highlander. She's says it's more comfortable for her back.

Mercury Grand Marquis is an upscale version of the Ford Crown Victoria.

Scroll down to Third Generation 1998-2002 on the Wikipedia page for details.

I have two Crown Vics. A 2011 for daily driving and a 2003 with 50,000 miles on it for occasional driving.

Several years ago I had a 2008 Police Interceptor.

I would not hesitate to own a Grand Marquis. They are beautiful cars, very comfortable, great performance, not so great gas mileage. But, hey, if you love them, you deal with it.

They ride nice, especially on the highway. Suck on gas with local driving.
