If I need someone to shriek at me about how much better cars used to be, I know where to find Scotty.

Interestingly, I find I don't really need that in my life much.

Vehicles were simpler back in his time therefore easier to work on. I don't think he likes how complex vehicles have gotten which makes his job harder...maybe he should get with the times and learn how to work on complex vehicles instead of passing them off as horribly engineered vehicles. Complex does not mean the vehicles are not as good as the ones before it.

I get where he's coming from, I don't need my cars to be as complex as government mandates have made them... and I also don't need an entire Youtube channel built around that theme.

Just wait for your engineering miracle to have something repaired.
A bill you will see, will quickly cure you from idealism. Suddenly, primitive box with motor, that keeps going and going, and costs fraction of that to repair, will become very attractive.

I own a 2005 F150 XL supercab and I really like the fact that its a real base model without any frills. It DOESN"T have carpet, power mirors, power windows, cruise control and keyless entry. I like being able to hose off the inside when I get it muddy or dirty. I don't think you can get it like that in the new models these days.

Does it have a bench seat and a manual transmission? Sounds pretty nice, actually.

Bench seat with an automatic/4.6 v8. I think the manual trucks came with the v6 engine but I could be wrong.

Those primitive motors didn't keep going and going.
