Elston - that sounds wonderful! I am, however, not a fan of turnips . I keep trying them throughout the years, (we actually had the last of them from Dad's garden the other day - along with the greens), but I still don't like them. I keep hoping my taste buds will change. It's funny, I won't eat them - the roots or the greens - but my husband says I can sure cook up a mess! Oh well. I will just keep trying to broaden my taste-bud horizons!

I small root in a big pot of greens...slices of white slab bacon.
Yes Nomadicus......if I am cooking turnip greens I do like to cube up a white turnip and cook it in there with the fat back and greens.
My yes! I have strips of fat back in the freezer for just such an occasion! I actually prefer ham hocks to anything else, but sometimes, you just gotta add the fat-back!!!

I LOVED the Circus! There was another one that usually played in the area near Palisades Park, Clyde Beatty?
Could you ever have believed at the time there might possibly be a better dinner than cotton candy and CrackerJack ?
